You are doing it because you cannot stop. You are risking your health every time you light a cigarette because you are addicted to nicotine. There is no blame being attached here, it is just the way things are. In taking away the crutch that you feel cigarettes give you, you may feel that you will flounder. Nicotine may have served you well in all sorts of situations for many years. But you really can cope without it. Imagine how much better your health will be and how much better you will feel about yourself without being a slave to your addiction.
